Create Standard and General Work Item
Create a work item in the Einsys Scheduler, choose between Standard and General, assign it directly, or schedule it from the planning board.

This video shows how to create a work item in the Einsys Scheduler and choose the right work item type for the job.
What the video shows
- Open Scheduler.
- Create a work item by double-clicking on a worker's lane.
- Alternatively, right-click to add an event, or drag an item from the unplanned work list into the schedule.
- Add the title, assignee, client, start time, and end time.
- Select the work item type.
- Choose Standard for a simple task.
- Choose General when the task needs more detail.
- Add a description if more context is needed.
- Add attachments if supporting files are required.
- Open Location Details when the task needs an address.
- Save the work item.
Standard work items are useful for quick tasks that only need basic information.
General work items are better for delegated office tasks, off-site work, inspections, reports, maintenance jobs, or work that needs additional context before being assigned.
Why this matters
The Scheduler gives teams more than one way to create work. A task can be created directly on a worker's lane, added from the schedule, or moved from the unplanned work list.
Standard work items keep simple tasks fast. General work items give teams the extra information needed for more detailed work, including location, attachments, and description.
Once saved, the work item can be assigned, scheduled, moved between workers, tracked in Scheduler, and managed from the Work Items page.
